SLC Vine Street 1300 East Waterline
Newman Construction completed a $2.77M municipal waterline project on Vine Street in Salt Lake City, installing over 5,600 LF of ductile iron pipe, fire hydrants, and a 20” steel casing under a canal. The project highlights our expertise in urban utility work, maintaining service continuity in tight, high-traffic corridors.

This municipal waterline project along Vine Street in Salt Lake City included the installation of 5,210 LF of 12” ductile iron pipe and 475 LF of 8” DIP. Newman Construction replaced multiple fire hydrants and water service connections and jacked and bored a 20” steel casing under a canal to minimize surface impact.
The team completed trenching using both open-cut and trenchless methods, coordinated asphalt restoration, and performed all pipe connections under live service conditions. Despite urban constraints and a tight corridor, Newman self-performed 100% of the $2.77 million project, completing it without claims or delays.
The Vine Street Project demonstrated Newman Construction’s urban utility capabilities, particularly in environments with constrained rights-of-way and critical service continuity requirements.
