RMP Northeast to Medical 46KV Project
Newman Construction upgraded Salt Lake City's power infrastructure by replacing 38 aging wooden poles with fire-resistant steel and installing over 20,000 feet of underground conduit. The complex project spanned steep mountain terrain, protected public lands, and urban streets—completed safely, on time, and with full site restoration. This critical upgrade boosts wildfire resilience and ensures reliable power for hospitals and local businesses.

Newman Construction delivered a major upgrade to Salt Lake City’s power infrastructure through the replacement of 38 aging wooden poles with modern, fire-resistant steel structures. The project also included the installation of over 20,000 feet of underground conduit across complex environments—steep mountainous terrain, active roadways, and protected public lands.
Working under tight constraints and high community visibility, the team deployed helicopters, hydro-excavation, and specialized mountain equipment to complete the work with zero injuries and full restoration of all impacted areas, including native landscapes and trail systems.
The project strengthens wildfire mitigation, ensures reliable power for essential institutions like hospitals, and sets a new benchmark for safe, sustainable utility infrastructure in Utah’s Wasatch foothills.
